Pranab Roy is a pioneer bengali authors in bengali literature. Writer and Professor Pranab Roy was a famous archaeologist and historian of Bengal. He was extremely talented as a student. He passed first class in each of the university courses and received gold medal Jubilee and UGC scholarships. During his student life he showed his skill in acting in many Sanskrit plays. Puthi collection was his passion. Inspired by his research, he also discovered some ancient documents. His most valuable discovery is an ancient inscription which is more than 900 years old.
He has done research on archeology. He has done a lot of research on regional history and archeological temple mosque architecture sculpture. He has been honored with many honors at home and abroad through his research. F.R.O.S., Fellow of the Royal Asiatic Society, London, and Distinguished Fellow of the Asiatic Society, Calcutta. The author was born on 2 April 1936 in Basudebpur village in Ghatal subdivision of Medinipur district. His famous work 'Bengal Temple Architecture and Sculpture' won the honor of Rajya Academy.
